Imagine a man who loves women so much that he can’t stay committed to one for more than a one-nighter, then he actually falls for a girl and when he goes for his “second” get together with her, she doesn’t remember him. Lucy (Barrymore) has short-term memory loss and forgets everything the next day. You would think that would be a perfect scenario for Henry (Adam). Henry however has fallen for Lucy and wants to keep seeing her.

One of the reasons I enjoyed this movie is that Adam and Drew played pretty “normal” characters. Adam can get pretty weird in his roles along with Drew and this was a nice tame movie with subtle comedy. Reunited from “The Wedding Singer” days, these two work well together. Imagine trying to make someone fall in love with you every day. That takes a lot of work and I’m sure that would be every woman’s dream to have a man like that.

How Henry goes about doing this is enjoyable. He’s always having to be one step ahead of the game, as each day, it starts over again but having to show how the relationship has evolved is the challenge. Also trying to get her family and friends to believe that he is sincere about all of it. Dan Akroyd had a small role as Lucy’s doctor. A lot of SNLers seem to stick together.

Ula (Schneider) and Doug (Whitmore) were the “silly” comedians of the movie. Doug is Lucy’s older “steroid lisping no-it-all” brother that’s really nothing but a loser. Ula is Henry’s best “Hawaiian” friend who has 5 “smart-alecky” young children, and who helps Henry “get the girl”.

Of course this movie is a tad unrealistic and I was debating between a yellow and green light. After seeing “Along Came Polly” and giving it a yellow, this was a better movie for me, so I went with the Green. If you go to this movie with the idea that it’s just a silly chick flick with no “real message” to be had…..just a feel good afternoon movie, you’ll be okay. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend for the big screen…but my opinion of big screen movies are action and visual/special effects movies. Most others can be seen on the small screen, however, this is a cute movie and I liked it.
