Nutshell: Ex-wise guy Chili Palmer (John Travolta) decides to help out a recently departed friend’s client. The client is in the music business and Chili is in the movie business, but Chili figures that the transition from movie producer to music producer can’t be that different, and it seems he’s right.

I really don’t have much to say about this film (and to some that might be a good thing) other than I found it very entertaining. It has an all-star, which can be a good or bad thing at times, and in this case it was good. The acting was great (especially ‘The Rock’, he was excellent), the story was a natural transition from the original “Get Shorty”, and even though this film is ten years its senior, it more or less just picked right up where the other left off.

It won’t win any Academy Awards, but you know… who cares? Sometimes it’s enough to go to the movies and be just simply entertained, which this film does very well.

Well done…

Lyn
