Nutshell: Five friends go on vakay to a small cabin in the woods...and terror ensues.

Okay maybe not terror per say, but mayhem? Alright perhaps not mayhem, but there's a virus and people get sick, and spew up a bunch o' blood.

Okay now that your appetite's wet and keep in mind this movie got a nod from "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson. I mean come on, the guy's probably going win the Oscar for best director, so what other motivation do you need to go out and see this film? None, but there are more compelling reasons not to.

First and the foremost reason...Eli Roth (Writer and director of this film). It wasn't until after the DVD was done did I found out the true reason of what was wrong with this movie, and I'd like to call this reason the "Rotten Fruit". In the ‘Special Features' section there were claymation shorts about an English rock band comprised of fruit. In true ‘Beavis & Butthead' fashion (although not nearly as amusing) we follow the antics of these fruits, and find out why they're rotten. Funny? No. Rotten? Sure. But you ask, "Lyn, what does have to do with ‘Cabin Fever'? Everything. I kept asking myself throughout the film, "Is this supposed to be a horror film, or comedy?" Unfortunately it wasn't either. But after seeing the "Fruits", which were the spawn of the same writer/director of the very film I had just witnessed, it was then I realized that it wasn't a horror or a comedy, it was just a bad film. Lame story, and mediocre acting. Phew! Imagine my relief. Thank goodness, now I didn't have to rack my brain anymore trying to figure out what I was missing in this little precious gem of cinematic genius. Absolutely nothing. Again, it was just a bad movie and nothing more.

In short, if Eli Roth has been making films since he was 8 years old, he must of made this one when he was seven.
