Dr. Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her teenage daughter, Anna (Lindsay Lohan) are typical Mother and Daughter. Mother forgets what it was like to be a teenager and Daughter is too selfish to appreciate the importance of Tess’ upcoming wedding. An evening out with the family, Tess and Anna get into a verbal argument about not appreciating each other’s current needs. The owner of the Chinese restaurant decides to do something about it. They get an identical fortune and the tables are turned (not until the next morning – Friday – obviously).

The next day, and the fun begins. Anna (as Tess) has to see her patients, make wedding arrangements and do a live talk show, while Tess (as Anna) has to take a test, play in a rock concert and flirt with her boyfriend.

Although the story line is different, the outcome is the same. They find a new respect for each other’s lives and realize that neither has it that easy, much like the original with Jodie Foster. Any parents having communication problems with their teenage kids should go to this for free therapy.
I absolutely loved little Harry (Ryan Malgarini), Anna’s little brother. He’s the only one who seems to realize that something’s not right with this picture, and he is so adorable, and funny. He is a 12-year-old version of Victor Garber (Alias, Titanic).

I was impressed by Lindsay’s role, I think she pulled it off, as the beginning (before she switched bodies), she was rather annoying and self pitying.

As the only reason I wanted to see this movie was because of Jamie Lee Curtis, I think she is the only one who could have pulled it off, but sorry Jamie Lee, you can’t top your dance scene in True Lies.

Good clean fun for kids, and another “what if” movie, but not recommended for a “first date” or “guys night out” movie.
