An interesting little film. Hadn't heard much about it, and I didn't even
know it existed until the night we went to see it. : ) But that's kind
of the way it goes with some independent films, they kind of sneak up
on you. Anyway, Neil Burger offers up a new twist in the seemingly endless
parade of JFK conspiracy theories, and in the now infamous style of "The
Blair Witch Project" to boot. But, unfortunately in the attempt to
appear as if the movie were a true documentary, it was almost too amatueristic
in its presentation to be believable.
The film kind of drags in the beginning, but starts to pick up the pace
after awhile, and sorta hooks you in. And as much as I heard people complain
as they left the theatre, still no one left before the movie's end. :
) I wouldn't necessarily recommend this film, but it was nonetheless appealing
to see what the final outcome might be. Of course if you were a fan of
Oliver Stone's "JFK" or John Mackenzie's "Ruby" (or
any of the countless other films of the same general topic), then I would
imagine this film would be a must. But, if Sherman were to set the Wayback
Machine™ to pre-show time, I would much rather had gone off to the
pool hall instead. : )
