"No place to run. No reason to hide.", a great tagline, and in that it also states in simplicity the nature of the film. Presented is a western without pretense and complexity, and almost a throwback to a simpler time of movie making. Sometimes you don't need complicated twist and turns in a story's plot, or car chases, or explosions, perhaps just a movie to sit back and enjoy and be entertained. I must admit the film was getting a little dragging in its tale, but something easily overlooked as a whole.

The story was straightforward…you had bad guys vs. good guys (well, not really good guys, but more like "Not-So-Bad-As-The-Other-Bad-Guys-Guys" And in the struggle, this where the tagline is most befitting, the choices made come down to sometimes there's nothing else you can really do. And that's it…how much of a simpler plot could you have? Of course you have to throw in a couple sub-plots, but you have to keep things interesting. But, I sat there, and let the film flow over me. The cinematography was breathtaking. I found it hard to imagine that there are places on this Earth that were this beautiful. Obviously there are, and apparently they can be found in Canada since the movie was filmed in Alberta. The acting: Straightforward and down-to-earth. Which of course added to the movies charm. Bravo!

Lastly, I have to commend Kevin Costner, Jake Eberts, and David Valdes for putting up their own monies to make up almost half of the movie's budget. It shows true strength, faith, and dedication to one's art. Bravo!

Then again if only more people had as much commitment to their films, then maybe it could weed out the likes of…gee I don't know…films such as "Freddy Vs. Jason". Perhaps if they might lose their own money, then a remake might not be as much of a good idea as they once thought…
