Shrek (Myers) and Princess Fiona (Diaz) return from their honeymoon to be invited back to Princess Fiona’s castle for a wedding party. As her parents, the King & Queen were not prepared for what they were about to see, the story begins. Donkey (Murphy) is by their side as usual and is a treat to watch as usual, but with an additional sidekick… Puss In Boots (Banderas). P-n-B’s and Donkey’s love-hate relationship leads to hilarious laughs. Good ol’ classic characters are back…3 little pigs, gingerbread man, Pinocchio, etc. There were less digs at Disney this time around (as they’ve proven themselves) and more hints at movies adults have seen… Mission Impossible, Flashdance, Hawaii Five-O, etc. The movie is definitely for adults and kids alike. I may have actually heard more laughter from the adults than the kids in the theatre. The animation was even better. I was totally impressed with the quality of the human features. They are getting more real each time… eventually we will not be able to tell the difference between real and animated. The music was good as usual. The message learned was love comes from the inside, not the outside (same message as last time, but around a different story line). Don’t forget to stay through the credits at the end. They pull a “Ferris” ending with a nice surprise for Donkey. Roblyn |
