About a writer (Diane Keaton) who ends up having to baby-sit
her daughters boyfriend (Jack Nicholson) after having a heart attack in
her summer home. Erica (Diane) is an uptight divorced playwright who is
in her 50’s and set in her ways. Harry (Jack) (I think maybe actually
playing himself) plays an older financially successful man who enjoys
the company of MUCH younger women…..MANY!
Okay, does that sound like a recipe for romance? I think not. But as the
movie progress’ and they get to know each other, it’s a nice
meeting of the minds. Julian (Keanu Reeves) who plays Harry’s doctor
has a crush on Erica and so the love triangle begins. This is a feel good
movie for any single 50 something female who thinks it may be too late
to find late love. Great acting by all, I’m sure there will be some
Oscar buzz on these people again.
I really enjoyed Frances’ character (Zoe, Erica’s sister/best
friend). That was my biggest disappointment was we didn’t see enough
of her. I love Frances and the characters she plays. She plays all to
the fullest and she is so believable/loveable. I really wish we saw more
of her. But what we did see of her, was very important and funny.
