You take a hit TV series from the 70’s about a couple of cops. Mix it up as a comedy and nostalgia and whaddya get? Stiller & Wilson. These two have chemistry in a sick way, but enjoyable to the audience.

There is something about Owen Wilson that I like better each time I see him. He is a ladies man in this movie and I can see it. His voice and charisma would turn any women on in this era. Ben Stiller pays the anal law abiding cop who is set in his ways and very protective of his vehicle.

I found it a little slow at the beginning until it came to the cameo appearance by Wil Ferrell (uncredited). You know you’ve made it when you DON’T need credit and the audience applauds when you appear on screen. Once we got to this point, it started picking up for me. I most enjoyed seeing how much we’ve evolved in the last 30 years, especially when it comes to technology. You’ll know what I mean when you see it. I couldn’t help but laugh at that. The vehicle stunts were great. Be sure you stay during the credits to see the vehicle bloopers. Oh, the money that was spent!

Vince Vaughn has always made me laugh and he plays a great role as the drug smuggling bad guy. Vince teams up again with Juliette Lewis and Wil Ferrell (from Old School) and of course Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (Zoolander). Sounds like a big happy family going on here. And to think he can actually do serious stuff as well. He actually has 4 films in post, 1 filming and 2 in preproduction, which teams him up again with Ferrell, Stiller, and Wilson in different films. I think Vince is only going to get bigger and better.

This film has the potential to become a sequel if it stays up top a few more weeks (other than The Passion of the Christ currently killing the competition). Could this be the next “Lethal Weapon” franchise? Time will tell.
