Nutshell… Dude wants to willingly eat 'McDonald’s' food morning, noon, and night for thirty days and see what happens. Willingly?

The documentary by 'Morgan Spurlock' looks into the world of fast food and one of the major problems facing many Americans these days; heart disease, and what better vehicle to take us on that ride; the king of fast food; 'McDonalds'.

I first had to ask myself why would I really want to see a healthy human eat this crap for thirty days? I have to admit I really can’t stomach the stuff anymore, not that I’m obese, more that I’m older and am put in the unfortunate perch of having to care more about my health, than I did in my younger days. Anyway, Morgan goes about his experiment in a very professional and scientific way. He starts by seeing three different types of doctors and recording the fact that he is on average…average. His health basically fell well within normal parameters…you know height matches weight, cholesterol was below 200, and everything else was fine. Then it was the night before the experiment to begin, and I honestly became nervous for him. I mean it wasn’t like it was heroin for a month; it was only 'McDonalds' for Pete’s sake, what’s the worst that could happen to him? Apparently…plenty.

The film was filled with very informative arguments and facts from both sides of the overweight issue, and was overall very entertaining. Although somewhere around day eighteen, it was getting a little tedious, and I was wishing for it to end. But all and all, I really enjoyed the film, even though I did kind of liken it to “Bowling for Columbine” in a way, but then again, not bad company to be compared with in my eye.

Side Note: The documentary premiered at Sundance in January, 2004. Less than two months later, 'McDonalds' announced that it will no longer sell any of their menu items in "Super Size". (Taken from “Imdb.com” trivia about the film)
