An astounding animated adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Novel 1912 "Treasure Island". This is Disney second time round with this classic tale, and a job very well done. I was pleasantly surprised by the futuristic version of the story, and actually sat in child-like amazement while this wonderful fable unfolded in front of me. The visual effects were simply stunning. It was a well-balanced and almost seamless mix of classic animation skills and CGI technology. This was nothing more than a charming, entertaining, and whimsical film. I can not think of a single reason for anyone not to see it.
I have to admit that there may be another clue to why I liked this movie so much. Jef and I went to see it over the Thanksgiving weekend, and we found ourselves alone in the 300+ seat theater. It was a joy in and of itself sitting there without having to listen to a single person talk while trying watching the movie. This has only happened one other time before, and I think it couldn't help but add to how much I enjoyed this entire movie going experience. Still, it was a great film, and stands well all by itself. : )
